About Us
I was born in a little log mansion near a mountain on the bottom of the ocean, and it was sixty seven years before I learned what a "pan" was. It was the summer of 2065, on a hot December morning, and the birds were in bloom....
Just kidding. I have a real problem with those recipe blogs that include the complete history of the world before you can scroll down past all the ads to get to the recipe. Just avoid all that and send me money. I save all my snarky comments, notes, and tips for the end of the recipes. Read 'em or not...it's up to you.
I am usually not very diligent when it comes to documenting my cooking techniques. I tend to be a seat-of-the-pants cook. Everything is different every time, but always within a spectrum of what I think it ought to taste like that day, and whatever fresh ingredients are available.
Then Carol said, "When you die, I'm never going to have good food again. You need to write down your recipes so I don't starve to death."
Fair enough.
Translating my cooking into simple steps for non-chefs to create delicious meals has been a great exercise in clear communication. You'll have to decide for yourself how well (or badly) I've been able to do that. This is not Top Chef™, after all.
Since a lot of these recipes predate my own weight loss journey, there are many recipes that are just not intended to assist with a healthy lifestyle. But hey, like I always say, "I could live ten years longer if I ate nothing but tofu. 10 long, boring, painful years of eating nothing but tofu." Sorry tofu. It's not your fault.
No one wants that. Cook with joy and you will taste joy in every bite.
I hope I have created a resource that makes it easy to scan through a large number of recipes quickly, and any recipe I post here will not have my life's story before you get to the good part. Except this page. This page is annoying as hell.

I have tried to keep the focus on easy dishes with simple ingredients found in most kitchens.
