Seriously though... 150 pounds lighter!
About Me, in Particular
"I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination”
— Jimmy Dean.
"Pork sausage is good for you, Mom!"
— Also Jimmy Dean ... probably.
It's been more than 15 years since I was able to spend any significant time at my computer. My nervous system and my skeleton got together and decided to beat up on me.
Let me tell you, time and technology wait for no one. My web development skills became hopelessly outdated.
With all my health issues, it was only natural that I turned to healthier cooking. No more ultra-processed or junk fast food for me.
That may be why I had such a good time developing this site. I still can't spend more than a few minutes at a time on my keyboard, but the process of re-learning my web development skills made me feel like maybe life wasn't actually over. Creating this site, typing one character at a time on my iPad, was truly the very definition of a labor of love.
Although it wasn't initially my priority, I've managed to lose more than a hundred and fifty pounds. So far. Changing your diet, for health, or weight-loss, or any other reasons, doesn't mean giving up on flavor though. During the journey I've become familiar with a wider range of cuisines from all over the globe. Spices and flavors exist beyond cheeseburgers and burritos. Believe it or not.
Combining web development and cooking didn't seem like it would make sense at first thought. But as I got deeper into the project it seemed like a natural fit. I hope you enjoy both of my favorite endeavors brought together.
